Demons And Evil Spirits
There are such things as demons and evil spirits. The Bible tells us so.
Jesus Christ himself in the following verses gave us this warning about demons and evil spirits and how they operate.
Luke 11:24 When an unclean spirit comes out of a man, it passes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’ 25 On its return, it finds the house swept clean and put in order. 26Then it goes and brings seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and dwell there. And the final plight of that man is worse than the first.”
And he gave this parable in Luke 11:21, “When a strong man, fully armed, guards his house, his possessions are secure. 22But when someone stronger attacks and overpowers him, he takes away the armor in which the man trusted, and then he divides up his plunder”.
It’s easy to overlook these bad spirits that are playing a big part in people’s day to day lives. Ignoring these spirits can have a very negative impact in people’s lives. There are people out there who don’t believe that demons and evil spirits even exist let alone affect their lives. Or if they exist, they are not affected by them because they don’t see or feel them. But the truth is, they are part of our spiritual reality and they can affect our thoughts, feelings and actions.
When Jesus Christ was here on Earth, he did a lot of miracles that included driving out demons and evil spirits. The demons and evil spirits that were present back in those days are still present even to this very day. Someday God will remove them from our midst and replace them with good spirits. In fact, God wants you to turn into one of the good spirits that will be part of his kingdom in the future. You can learn about this in Luke 20:36.
But until then, being aware of these evil spirits can help you deal with your mental, emotional, and spiritual problems. If you are able to discern the spirits that are affecting you mentally, emotionally and spiritually you will have a better chance of living a happier and contented life with God with less drama and problems.
Your mind is the battlefield for the good and bad spirits. In your mind is where everything that becomes part of your life starts to take shape. It is your spiritual battleground. It is very important to understand this. You must learn how to discern every spirit that comes into your thought.
Apostle Paul gave us an advise in
Philippians 4:6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 8Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think on these things.
Sleepers And Demonic Influence
In the Spiritual realm there are people who are considered to be “sleepers”. All humans are at one point sleepers. Adam and Eve, Earth’s first couple, woke up from being sleepers when they ate from the tree of knowledge. Sleepers are vulnerable to all sorts of spiritual influences. They are most susceptible to mind control. These type of people are at the mercy of spirits in the spiritual realm. Many lives are wasted because a lot of these people end up having emotional and mental problems. As a result, they become unfruitful or unproductive. If you know somebody who is a sleeper or if you you are one yourself and you are seeking to find the truth, then take comfort in these words spoken by the Holy Spirit through Apostle Paul.
Ephesians 5:8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light, for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness, and truth. Test and prove what pleases the Lord.
Have no fellowship with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. But everything exposed by the light becomes visible, for everything that is illuminated becomes a light itself. So it is said:
“Wake up, O sleeper, rise up from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”
Being strong in the LORD make your house secure.
Here are some verses that tell us how we can protect ourselves from spiritual attacks.
Ephesians 6:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. 11Put on the full armor of God, so that you can make your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this world’s darkness, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Ephesians 6:13 Therefore take up the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you will be able to stand your ground, and having done everything, to stand. 14Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness arrayed, 15and with your feet fitted with the readiness of the gospel of peace. 16In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
I hope that you’ve learned something from this blog brethren. I will expand more on this topic in my future blogs. May God bless and protect you! Thank you Jesus Christ, HalleluYah!
Colossians 1:12 and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light.
