In the Beginning
There is the “Word” or “Message” that God sent out from the beginning, and this Word is the foundation of the truth of our existence in the universe.
1 John 1:5 And this is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you: God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.
This is the prophetic Word of God: “Let There Be Light”.
Genesis 1:3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
This is also the message we have heard in the beginning.
The Word is light
John 1:1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was in the beginning with God. 3All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
The Son is The Light
So, when God commanded the light to appear with His Word, He begotten His one and only Son.
Colossians 1:15 The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.
Moreover, in the Son, is where God chose us before the foundation of the world and before time began.
Before Time Began
Ephesians 1:4 For He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless in His presence. In love.
Hence, God predestined us to “shine” just as He let His Son Shine His light on us.
Romans 8:29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.
And God gave us understanding so that we may know Him better.
2 Corinthians 4:6 For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
Therefore, we are admonished to look out for the fulfillment of the Prophetic Word in the following verse.
The Prophetic Word Confirmed
2 Peter 1:19And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts;
Because just as in the beginning when God commanded for light to appear, it is also bound for light to appear for the believers. Light is what God has planned for the people to see and experience.
1 Corinthians 2:7 No, we declare God’s wisdom, a mystery that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began.
God’s Glory Is Light
God has chosen the people before the foundation of the world and before time began so that they may see the light that He has prepared for them. And to share His glory with them and for them to walk in that light for eternity.
Awake O’ Sleeper
Ephesians 5:8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light, 9 for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness, and truth. 10 Test and prove what pleases the Lord.
11 Have no fellowship with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. 12 For it is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. 13 But everything exposed by the light becomes visible, for everything that is illuminated becomes a light itself. 14 So it is said:
“Wake up, O sleeper, rise up from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”
