Jesus Christ told many parables about the Kingdom Of God. Below is one of those parables.
Matthew 13:33 He told them another parable: “The kingdom from heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed with three measures of flour until all of it was leavened.”
In this particular parable, Jesus Christ is alluding that the Kingdom Of God is like the woman in the parable. The woman in this parable is not the kingdom of God. The woman in this parable is Babylon, the harlot, an apostate religion.
Let’s look at the meaning of the parable.
Yeast = False doctrine
The Woman = A harlot or Babylon
Three measures of flour = Three principles , three false teachings
Leavened = Puffed-up and misled.
Babylon is the “harlot” or the unfaithful woman. The yeast is a false doctrine given in three principles which are symbolized by the “3 measures of flour”. By her false doctrines, the harlot woman misled her followers. The harlot woman is exalted and puffed-up together with her misled followers.
The “three measures of flour” are false teachings. The harlot has knowledge of the kingdom of God but hid the real doctrine of the kingdom of God from her followers in three measures of flour or three false teachings.
The kingdom of God is like that apostate religion, Babylon but instead of being unfaithful, she is faithful. She is the church of the firstborn, the heavenly Jerusalem –Mount Zion. It is she who is true to the gospel. She is the bride of Christ.
When the kingdom arrives on earth, it will grow into a worldwide church and government that is well organized. It will have dominion in the spirit realm with kings and priests operating under the system of truth.
The kingdom of God is Mount Zion or the heavenly Jerusalem. She is also a woman but she is not the harlot. She is the bride of Christ. She is our mother.
The prophecy of the prophet Isaiah below coincides with this parable of Jesus Christ.
Isaiah 2:2 In the last days the mountain of the house of the LORD will be established as the chief of the mountains; it will be raised above the hills, and all nations will stream to it. 3And many peoples will come and say: “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us His ways so that we may walk in His paths.” For the law will go forth from Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. 4Then He will judge between the nations and arbitrate for many peoples. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will no longer take up the sword against nation, nor train anymore for war.
