What is the little horn? Why is it important?
Just to give you an idea, when the little horn is finally here on earth, the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is at hand.
Come and join me and I will share with you what God has made me understand about this end-time character called the little horn.
What Is The Little Horn?
In a nutshell, the little horn is a religion. It is a religious organization that holds governmental power –a theocracy. And, as I explained in my previous blogs, a theocracy that is not faithful to God is under the spiritual realm of Babylon.
Moreover, according to the vision of the prophet Daniel of “a goat and a ram”, the little horn will emerge from one of the nations that will replace the broken-up United States of America
Now, let’s read a couple of verses from the prophet Daniel’s vision of a goat and a ram. These verses provided us with the details of the appearance of the little horn.
Daniel 8:8 Thus the goat became very great, but at the height of his power, his large horn was broken off, and four prominent horns came up in its place, pointing toward the four winds of heaven…
The above vision is interpreted spiritually this way: When democracy finally breaks the powers of authoritarians, specifically absolute monarchs and communist regimes, that democracy will put on “great airs”. It will become the world’s most widely-used form of government. But at the height of its power, we can expect the goat’s “large horn”, which is the United States of America, to break into four separate nations.
And the verse continues with the following line.
(Daniel 8:8) …” From one of these horns, a little horn emerged..”
Additionally, the vision is telling us that from one of the four nations that resulted in the breaking up of the United States the “little horn” will come.
Consequently, based on this interpretation, the little horn is not the Vatican, the Pope, or the Catholic religion as some Bible scholars out there are alluding.
The little horn is not yet in the world scene at this time or at least it is not yet a theocracy at this point.
Likewise, the little horn cannot emerge until the “fourth kingdom” has fully manifested in the world scene first.
We can expect the “fourth kingdom” to fully manifest in the world only after the United States breaks into four nations. At that time, it will become the most dominant system of government in the world.
The Beast System
The “fourth kingdom” or “the beast” system is a new type of government system that will be used to govern the nations of the world in the future.
The beast system is the fourth kingdom that the prophet Daniel saw in his vision in chapter seven of his book.
Daniel 7:7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.
The “fourth beast” a.k.a “the fourth kingdom” and “the beast” will possess a formidable military force. It will devour and trample those who oppose it.
Indeed, the “beast” will be different from the other types of government systems before it. It will be comprised of ten confederations of nations. They are symbolized by the ten horns of the beast in Daniel 7 and Revelation 13.
A good example of a confederation of nations is the European Union. The beast will comprise ten confederations.
Moreover, at least one of the four nations that will emerge from the breaking-up of the United States will be part of this ten-horn beast system.
Parallel Prophecies Of The Fourth Kingdom
Similarly, the fourth kingdom has a parallel prophecy in the book of Revelation.
Revelation 13:1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
The Little Horn Of The Fourth Kingdom
Moreover, the following verse tells us that from one of the “ten horns” of the “beast” will emerge a little horn.
Daniel 7:8 While I was contemplating the (ten) horns, suddenly another horn, a little one, came up among them, and three of the first horns were uprooted before it. This horn had eyes like those of a man and a mouth that spoke words of arrogance.
Please note that the little horn of Daniel chapter seven is the same little horn of Daniel chapter eight.
The Beast That Came Out Of The Earth
My friends, if you haven’t yet made the connection, the little horn is also the same entity as “the beast that came out of the earth” of the book of Revelation.
Revelation 13:11 Then I saw another beast rising out of the earth. This beast had two horns like a lamb but spoke like a dragon.
The little horn is “the mouth” of the beast that spoke blasphemies against God.
Revelation 13:5 The beast was given a mouth to speak arrogant and blasphemous words, and authority to act for 42 months. And the beast opened its mouth to speak blasphemies against God and to slander His name and His tabernacle— those who dwell in heaven.
Moreover, the little horn aka the “beast that came out of the earth” is responsible for setting up the image of the beast and the “mark of the beast”.
Revelation 13:16 And the second beast required all people small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their forehead, 17 so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark—the name of the beast or the number of its name.
The King Who Exalts Himself
Another title that the little horn is known for is “the king who exalts himself”.
The verses below are giving us more insight into what this “little horn” or “the king who exalt himself” will do at the time of the end.
Daniel 11:36 “Then the king shall do according to his own will: he shall exalt and magnify himself above every god, shall speak blasphemies against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the wrath has been accomplished; for what has been determined shall be done. 37He shall regard neither the God of his fathers nor the desire of women, nor regard any god; for he shall exalt himself above them all. 38 But in their place he shall honor a god of fortresses; and a god which his fathers did not know he shall honor with gold and silver, with precious stones and pleasant things. 39 Thus he shall act against the strongest fortresses with a foreign god, which he shall. acknowledge, and advance its glory; and he shall cause them to rule over many, and divide the land for gain.

Conclusion
In conclusion, we now understand that at least one of the four nations that will emerge from the breaking-up of the United States will become part of the “ten horns” of the beast system.
In fact, the little horn will emerge from one of these four nations.
Likewise, we now understand also that the “little horn” of the Book of Daniel is the same entity as “the beast that came out of the earth” of the book of Revelation. Additionally, the little horn is also known as the king who exalts himself.
It is important to know when “the beast” and the “little horn” will show up because they will persecute God’s people and will be responsible for creating the “image of the beast” and the “mark of the beast”.
