A Hard Truth to Grasp
Brethren, what I’m about to share may stretch your understanding. But I believe the Holy Spirit has granted me insight into the true nature of the Tree of Life. So, I ask for your patience as I do my best to explain it according to what is written in Scripture.
Let’s begin by exploring what the Bible says about the Tree of Life.
Proverbs 11:30
“The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.”
From this verse alone, we can already understand something profound: the Tree of Life is not a literal tree. Rather, it symbolizes a spiritual reality rooted in righteousness.
Winning Souls: Participating in the Tree
When we win souls, we do more than convert people—we help awaken spiritual life. We don’t labor in “dead works” but instead become partners in God’s work of salvation. Every soul rescued from the dominion of darkness becomes fruit on the Tree of Life. And in choosing life over death, we, too, become branches and fruit-bearers on that tree.
In essence, when we support the cause of life—which is Christ—we align ourselves with the divine will. That alignment leads to fruitfulness.
Matthew 3:8
“Produce fruit worthy of repentance.”
Ephesians 5:8-14
“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord…”
Apostle Paul emphasizes that bearing fruit requires walking in the light, rejecting fruitless deeds of darkness, and becoming light ourselves.
Good Trees Bear Good Fruit
The Lord Jesus issued a sobering warning against false prophets and deception:
Matthew 7:15-20
“By their fruit you will recognize them…”
A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. This principle should prompt us to inspect not only others’ works but our own. Are we producing fruit in line with God’s righteousness? If not, we risk being cut down and cast away.
And let us not forget, bearing fruit means winning souls, obeying God, and letting our light shine in a dark world.
The Tree of Life and the New Jerusalem
Now, here’s a deeper revelation—one that may be new to you. According to Scripture, the Tree of Life is closely tied to those who have washed their robes in the blood of the Lamb.
Revelation 22:14
“Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city.”
That city is the New Jerusalem, the eternal dwelling place of the righteous.
The 144,000 Israelite Saints
Before the full manifestation of God’s kingdom, 144,000 Israelites must be sealed. These are not merely ethnic descendants but spiritual Jews—redeemed and awakened saints.
Revelation 7:4
“Then I heard the number of those who were sealed: 144,000 from all tribes of Israel.”
Revelation 14:1
“Then I looked, and there before me was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion, and with him 144,000…”
These chosen ones represent the spiritual tribe of Judah, awakened to establish God’s kingdom—Mount Zion.
The Multitude: Co-Laborers with the Elect
The believers who assist in waking the 144,000 are called the Multitude. They wash their robes by helping win these souls.
Revelation 7:14
“…These are they who have come out of the great tribulation…”
This Multitude becomes the spiritual tribe of Israel, the other half of God’s chosen people.
Together, Judah and Israel—symbolizing the Two Witnesses—form the Two Olive Trees and, astonishingly, the two Trees of Life on either side of the river in the New Jerusalem.
The Tree of Life in Revelation
Revelation 22:1-2
“…On either side of the river stood a tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit..And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations.”
The river represents the global body of believers who carry the anointing of the Holy Spirit. They nourish the Tree of Life. The twelve kinds of fruit symbolize the twelve tribes of Israel, and the leaves—the olive branches—stand for peace and healing for all nations.
Revelation 22:3-5
“No longer will there be any curse…”
In this final vision, the curse is lifted, and God’s light shines forever. His name is on their foreheads, and they reign eternally.
Conclusion: The Tree Is Alive in Us
The Tree of Life is not just a symbol—it is a spiritual structure composed of the righteous. It includes those who awaken to God’s truth and serve His kingdom as fruit-bearers. Judah and Israel—the Two Witnesses—will form this eternal Tree in the New Jerusalem.
Brethren, I’ve only scratched the surface. I will explore this deeper in future posts. But I hope today’s message opens your eyes to the spiritual reality of the Tree of Life.
