Many believers have read Daniel 9:27 without realizing the depth of its prophecy.
“And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease…”
This verse doesn’t only speak of future desolation—it reveals a defining moment when the Little Horn confirms the “covenant” that reshapes the spiritual landscape of Christianity. Understanding what this covenant is—and how it ties to Mount Zion and the awakening of the churches—unlocks the hidden connection between Daniel’s vision and the Book of Revelation.
The Rise of the Little Horn
The Little Horn in Daniel’s vision represents more than a political figure—it embodies a Christian theocracy. While many Christian denominations focus primarily on spreading the Gospel through their churches, the Little Horn fuses spiritual and political authority. It becomes both a faith and a government.
This distinction matters because political power gives this movement influence far beyond the pulpit. It will shape the beliefs, doctrines, and even national policies of other Christian nations who view it as a spiritual authority.
The Slumbering Church and the Coming Awakening
Before the covenant is confirmed, most churches remain asleep—trapped in a state of spiritual slumber. They function, preach, and worship, yet they have not fully received the Spirit of Truth. But when God finally pours out His Spirit, an awakening will ripple through the Body of Christ.
Isaiah 52:1 declares this moment:
“Awake, awake, Zion, clothe yourself with strength! Put on your garments of splendor, Jerusalem, the holy city…”
When this happens, believers will rise into the realm of Mount Zion, the heavenly Jerusalem—the true Kingdom of God. They will walk in the light of Christ, electing spiritual kings and priests chosen to lead others into the truth. Mount Zion represents not only a spiritual reality but also the covenant itself—the eternal sanctuary where peace and divine life flow endlessly.
As Psalm 133:3 reminds us:
“For there the LORD bestows His blessing, even life forevermore.”
The Covenant and Mount Zion
Mount Zion—God’s Holy Mountain—is the very covenant that the Little Horn will confirm. This covenant isn’t a treaty between nations but a spiritual confirmation of God’s Kingdom on earth. The Little Horn, as a dominant Christian theocracy, will endorse this covenant through its influence among the nations.
Many Christian denominations and churches will admire and get inspired by its faith-based model of leadership. As the Little Horn gains credibility, its actions will become patterns for others to follow. Through this process, the covenant—the recognition of Mount Zion as the Kingdom of God—will be confirmed “with many.”
The Role of the 144,000 and the Two Witnesses
When the 144,000 Israelites awaken in the Spirit, they will stand upon Mount Zion and testify of God’s Kingdom. Their message will first face resistance; believers will hesitate to embrace it because fear of persecution still clouds their hearts. Yet their testimony will not fade. Those who receive their message will strengthen their cause, empowering the Two Witnesses—Judah and Israel—united in Spirit.
The Multitude, described in Revelation, will minister to the 144,000 Israelites and will align themselves with the truth of Mount Zion. The Little Horn will observe their growing power and spiritual success. Convicted by their testimony, it too will begin to walk in truth. It will elect its own saints, advocate the Kingdom of God, and in doing so, confirm the covenant for as many as one prophetic week that Daniel foretold.
But halfway through the prophetic week—after three and a half days—the Little Horn will begin to shift its allegiance toward the once-dominant beast system. Because it functions as a theocracy, its political and spiritual influence will attract the attention of nations that previously belonged to the beast. In doing so, the Little Horn will play a key role in reviving the wounded beast system, breathing life back into what once seemed defeated.
Revelation 13:11 Then I saw another beast rising out of the earth. This beast had two horns like a lamb, but spoke like a dragon. 12And this beast exercised all the authority of the first beast and caused the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose mortal wound had been healed.
Conclusion: The Call to Awaken
We now live in the threshold of this awakening. The Spirit of Truth prepares to move through the churches, calling every believer to rise into the light of Mount Zion. The Little Horn’s confirmation of the covenant marks the unfolding of God’s plan for His Kingdom on earth—a kingdom not built by human hands but established in the hearts of those who believe.
So I ask you today: Are you awake? Will you walk in the light of Mount Zion and take your place in God’s covenant? Let the Spirit of Truth clothe you with strength. Stand with the witnesses. Embrace the Kingdom of God that has come near—and let His covenant live in you.
