In a world blanketed by spiritual darkness, a radiant light is about to break forth—and those who are awake will see it. Isaiah’s prophetic words don’t merely inspire—they declare a divine awakening: “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you” (Isaiah 60:1). This is not a vague metaphor or poetic phrase. It’s a summons from God, calling His chosen people to rise up from the shadows and walk in the brilliance of His revealed glory.
The Glory of Zion Breaking Through the Darkness
Isaiah paints a dramatic picture: thick darkness covers the earth and shrouds the hearts of humanity, but that darkness cannot last forever. The LORD Himself will rise upon Zion, and His glory will be visible for all to see. This moment marks the dawning of a new day—the beginning of the Day of the Lord. In that day, God’s presence will no longer be hidden. The heavenly Jerusalem, Zion, will become the epicenter of divine light, and the glory of God will burst forth like the rising sun at dawn.
What’s remarkable is that this light doesn’t just shine around the saints—it shines through them. The sleepers—those who once slumbered in spiritual blindness—will awaken. They will carry the morning star within their hearts. These awakened ones will rise as kings and priests, clothed not in worldly power, but in the light of the Lamb. As foretold in Psalm 84:7, they will go from strength to strength until each of them stands in Zion, fully transformed by the glory of God.
The Nations Will Come to the Light
This spiritual awakening won’t be hidden. It will draw attention from every corner of the earth. Isaiah declares that nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn (Isaiah 60:3). In other words, the world will witness the glory of God upon His people—and they will respond. This is not about political conquest or religious imperialism. It’s about the irresistible magnetism of truth, light, and divine righteousness emanating from God’s true kingdom.
John confirmed this same vision in Revelation 21. He saw the New Jerusalem, the city of God, needing no sun or moon because the glory of God illuminates it. The Lamb—Jesus Christ—is its lamp. And by this divine light, the nations walk, and kings bring their glory into it (Revelation 21:23–24). It is a spiritual center of worship, justice, and divine presence.
The Morning Star Rises in the Hearts of the Saints
The Apostle Peter, echoing the same hope, urged believers to hold fast to the prophetic word “as unto a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts” (2 Peter 1:19). That “day star” is Christ—the Spirit of the Son—rising within the hearts of those who believe. It is the internal manifestation of Zion’s external light. This is how the saints are awakened. This is how the kings and priests of God’s kingdom emerge.
Final Call to Action
Now is the time to wake up. The light of Zion has come. The glory of the Lord is ready to rise upon those who are willing to receive it. Don’t remain in the thick darkness of this world. Let the day star rise in your heart. Arise and shine, for your light has come.
Will you be among those who awaken and carry the morning star to Zion? Or will you remain asleep in the shadows of the passing world? The glory is rising—choose the light.
