The Day

Last updated on March 7, 2021

What is Day?

There are many instances in the Holy Bible where the “Day” is mentioned. The following verses are just some of the examples.

In 1 Thessalonians 5:8 “But since we belong to the ‘Day’, let us be sober, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet.”

And in Hebrews 10:35  “not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another–and all the more as you see the ‘Day’ approaching.”

When there is Light, there is the Day

My quick and simple explanation for the meaning of “Day” is when people can see the light. You see, in the beginning, God created light and called it the Day.

Genesis 1:3-5   And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. And seeing that the light was good, God separated the light from the darkness. God called the light “day,” and the darkness He called “night.”

The verse above is not talking about light from the Sun. The sun was not created by God until the fourth day. Here, the light means the truth. The Word of God is truth (John 17:17). The Spirit is Truth (John 1:56). You must have both the Word and the Spirit to understand the Truth. When you understand the truth, then you will see the light.

In John 11:9 Jesus answered, “Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world.”

Jesus Christ, The Light

Jesus Christ, the Son Of God was the light of the world. He is The Truth. When he was here on Earth, it was Daytime.

John 8:12 When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

He also said in John 9:4 “I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day; the night cometh when no man can work.”

So the Day is when we see the light of this world.   When you see the light, you are in the realm of the Day.

In John 12:35 Then Jesus told them, “For a little while longer, the Light will be among you. Walk while you have the Light so that darkness will not overtake you. The one who walks in the darkness does not know where he is going.

The light is your guide during the Day so that you can see where you’re going. You can only discern this Day spiritually. The verse below is the discerning of the beginning of the Day.

The Morning Star

2 Peter 1:9 We also have the prophetic message as something completely reliable, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.

Jesus Christ is the morning star (Revelation 22:16).  The verse above tells us that when we see the morning star, it’s the beginning of the day. This can be interpreted as the Truth is starting to get revealed. The full Day is when the truth is fully manifested. That is when we become the light of the world,  it’s the Daytime. This is what the Prophets are trying to relay to us in the Bible.

Matthew 5:14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.”

So, brothers and sisters, let’s discern what the spirit is trying to tell us.

Romans 13:12  “The night is nearly over; the ‘Day’ is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.”

I hope that you’ve learned something from this blog. May God continue to bless all of us with the understanding of the truth. Thank you, Lord Jesus Christ. HalleluYah!
